Awaiting such a long time for an album ,including the weaver’s songs and chansons which did not show up, as it have been declared is going to be done by Bijan bijani as a singer and master Kambiz Roshan ravaan as composer, brought our attention to what Bijan Bijani put about it:
I was in love with Iran’s various folkloric musical heritages since I was a teenager. Today as a singer who owns 17 formal albums in which I made two to three folkloric music in each persistently, have to state that all were bestselling art works so far.
One, called” Iran zamin” due to its matchless cover design, inspired by Iranian colorful nomadic glims from different regions of the country, has been widely acclaimed .
The way carpet-weavers sing sorrowful and joyful tones while working, always bewitches and inspires me. There is an inevitable affiliation between carpet and music which can be assessed as a best way to demonstrate and express this folk’s feelings and demands.
Harmony and color reaches the summit of the artistic performance in hand made carpets and those nameless unknown artists have to be respected and be provided with social, medical and financial services in proper way.
About a decade ago, we set the agreement with literate knowledgeable principle of Iranian national carpet museum to produce an album mainly focuses on mentioned chansons to save this cultural treasures and me and dr roshanravaan have started to manage the preparations. The plan was magnificently discussed to be done with live performances of weavers of each region simultaneously when the orchestra plays the music of the same place. It was a hearth work, but after several years we did not received any clear response and I have been told that the plan has not been financed and they did not even gave me my papers back in excuse of being lost!
Taking care of cultural affairs is not a big expectation from the organization in charge with-it… those treasures are now restored and saved in my brain and hearth and I am waiting for a given day to let them out and share it hopefully with my beloved people…
