Hand-woven carpet is considered as a capital product since it can be bought as an investment, used for years and then sold for even higher prices. Around 3 million square meters of handmade carpets are woven in Iran annually, two-thirds of which are exported and one-third meets domestic demand

As one of the most important articles included in the final historical agreement between Iran and P5+1, the sanctions on the import of Persian carpet to the US were removed accordingly.
