In 2015 Domotex exhibition which was held some months ago in Germany , two handmade Persian carpets were of the most outstanding ones in the eight categories of the competition in terms of innovative flair and creativity.
In the “best transitional design” category, the Persian carpet called “ Nouveau Tabriz” was awarded the first prize . This carpet deserved this prize due to the fact that the typical traditional floral patterns were combined with a contemporary feel to give it an astounding design.
This carpet was woven in 45 raj ( the unit of knot density) in 220 at 298 cms in Tabriz and its main materials are handspun fleece and herbal colours.
The simplification of patterns, the removal of margins, and a new style in colouring are, likewise, the main features of this brilliant carpet.
According to this report, in the “ best modern design superior” category , a kilim named “ weaves of colour” with a striking interplay of colours benefiting from old Iranian weaving techniques deservedly took the first position.
This kilim in 260 at 360 cms has been woven with Persian handspun fleece and herbal colours in Fars province and is a great reminder of old Ikat fabrics.
It is noteworthy that these two handmade Persian carpets which grabbed the first place in two categories amongst the eight categories in this competiton were showcased by “ Naziri” company in Hamburg, Germany,Domotex exhibition of 2015.
